The Said sisters are both fitted with cochlear implants. Loud environments, like school, sound especially muffled and distorted for them. To facilitate learning, their school system outfitted the girls with FM systems so their teachers’ voices would be amplified and they could learn in a traditional classroom environment. Once the bell rung for the end of the day, the girls no longer had the benefits of these much needed FM systems since they were school property. Chari-T2000 recently funded two transmitters and receivers for the girls to use at home. Now they can hear at home as well as they can at school and can participate with ease in family activities.
